Understanding
Glaucoma

Glaucoma is a group of eye diseases that damage the optic nerve. There are many types of glaucoma, but the most common form is primary open-angle glaucoma (POAG). Left untreated, glaucoma can result in sight loss and even lead to irreversible blindness.

EARLY SURGICAL INTERVENTION MATTERS

Early detection and treatment are the best solution for lowering intraocular pressure, also called IOP, and protecting your
vision. Eye drops are often prescribed as the first line of defense. While these drops can be very effective in many cases,
they may prove to be expensive and inconvenient over time.

Another option that may lower IOP for glaucoma patients is minimally invasive glaucoma surgery, also known as MIGS.
“Minimally invasive” means that tiny incisions and/or microscopic equipment are used. MIGS procedures are generally
safer than traditional invasive surgery.

The OMNI® Surgical System is a safe and effective MIGS procedure that can:
  • Help patients with primary open-angle
    glaucoma lower IOP
  • Reduce or even eliminate the use of drops
  • Help restore the natural flow of fluid from the eye
  • Lower pressure on the optic nerve, which may help to
    preserve your vision
  • Be performed with cataract surgery, but does not
    have to be
  • Be performed as an independent procedure
  • Offer a quick recovery time
